How to Replace a Dell Inspiron 9200 Fan?

Heat can build up quickly inside of a laptop because of the small amount of space. The fan ventilates the hot air out of the computer, allowing the electrical components to work without heat damage. If the fan on a laptop stops working, it can be replaced with a few tools. 1. Turn off the computer and disconnect any electrical devices. Remove the battery and ground the computer, according to the service manual.

2. Remove the system board, according to the service manual. The method of removal varies depending on the type of laptop.

3. Disconnect the fan connector, and remove the screws while holding the Dell Inspiron 9200 Fan in place on the system board. Remove the fan.

4 Place the new Dell Laptop fan onto the system board where the old one was removed. Line up the screw holes. Use a screwdriver to replace the screws and secure the fan into place.

5 Plug the Dell Fan connector into the system board.

6 Assemble the laptop, according to the service manual, and turn it on. Listen for the Dell Inspiron 9200 fan to make sure it runs properly.
